What about Joe Crede?

I know, I know, I should be writing about Joe Crede, but one thing is stopping me: I lack the appropriate literary device. There are about 12 different aspects to cover with a possible Crede signing, some positive and some negative, and I’m stalling on how to cover them all. Thumbs up/thumbs down? What’s hot/what’s not? I suppose I could rip off Simmons and break it down Dr. Jack style, but it seems like there is a much more obvious literary device. Like from a movie or show? It feels like it is just staring me in the face. It’s driving me crazy.

So, if you’ve got any ideas, feel free to include them in the comments below. I’ve been putting it off for two weeks – two days more shouldn’t kill me. In the meantime, I'm working on a long promised breakdown of the Twins revenue streams for the first issue of GameDay this year. We may get a portion of that up on the blog later this week.

What about song titles or lyrics from the band Creed? That might be amusing.

You could go "Top 5 List", High Fidelity style.
Top 5 Reasons to Sign Crede
AND
Top 5 Reasons Not to Sign Crede.

I've always been fond of The Brothers Karamazov.

You could use the ex-girlfriend approach. A couple buddies of mine and I are thinking of getting Twins jersey's with Crede's number, but then putting the names of ex-girlfriends on them and wearing them down to the Cell.

I still think the Twins should have been looking at Abreu. Gomez still has options, and a little extra competition never hurt anybody, especially when you're talking about adding talent on a 1 year deal. Manny's a pipe dream (though really, he shouldn't be), but I wonder what Dunn would take for a 1 year deal...

What I'm really saying is: Crede is small potatoes, and it's a sign of how poorly the Twins offseasons usually go that we, as fans, would be excited about signing him. Not that he might not work out, I'm just saying that it wouldn't hurt the FO to think really big once in a while when the team could use that last push to be a real contender. I mean at least go get someone at the Chili Davis level...
