From what i've watched, he has actually been pretty decent coming out the bullpen, even though he gave up a run tonight. I want to see him at least get one more start... although I see that being highly unlikely.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5394137.post-9413312731597004912008-07-03T18:29:00.000-05:002008-07-03T18:29:00.000-05:00I guess we can both throw numbers aroundSure, but ...
I guess we can both throw numbers around

Sure, but neither one of us should. My only point was that there is absolutely nothing in Perkin's recent performance that makes him remotely eligible to be dropped from the rotation.

Despite those worrisome "peripherals", Perkins has been doing just fine. No one is going to take him out of the rotation until his actual Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5394137.post-50193900775038881812008-07-03T12:35:00.000-05:002008-07-03T12:35:00.000-05:00Regarding Perkins vs. Baker.Perkins vs. Blackburn,...Regarding Perkins vs. Baker.

Perkins vs. Blackburn, I meant.Nick N.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00848574337121154690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5394137.post-90878303738624053052008-07-03T12:34:00.000-05:002008-07-03T12:34:00.000-05:00I have a few thoughts:Regarding Gardenhire getting...I have a few thoughts:

Regarding Gardenhire getting tossed. What did he expect the umpire to do in that situation? If he didn't issue the warning, Galarraga would have been free to take another shot at Mauer with no consequence. And I don't think an umpire can warn only ONE bench... can he?

Regarding Perkins vs. Baker. I find Perkins' peripherals to be very worrisome. A lead was turned over to the relievers, they stopped doing what Perkins was doing. He was challenging hitters inside and keeping them from waiting on middle-to-outside strike pitches. The Tigers hit some good pitches, but the good pitches were middle-low and Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5394137.post-20423548514297199632008-07-03T11:27:00.000-05:002008-07-03T11:27:00.000-05:00Gardy was upset that the Tiger pitcher threw at Jo...Gardy was upset that the Tiger pitcher threw at Joe twice and was not ejected.
